We Don't Just Book Your MOT. We Manage the Whole Thing.
Most MOT experiences are the same: drop your car at a busy test centre, sit in a waiting room, get handed a confusing pass or fail sheet. Nobody tells you what it means or what to do next.
At NGM Motors, your MOT works differently. You deal with us from start to finish. We handle everything in between — so you're not left guessing, waiting around, or dealing with surprise bills.
How It Works
Bring your car to our Lower Court workshop, or use our secure 24/7 key letterbox the night before if that suits you better. No queuing, no rushing.
Before anything is submitted, our technicians inspect the most common MOT fail points — wipers, bulbs, tyres, fluid levels, horn, bodywork. If we spot something minor that would cause a fail, we call you and fix it first. That one step alone saves many customers the inconvenience of a retest.
We arrange and manage your MOT with our trusted local DVSA-approved test centre on your behalf. No calls to make, no forms to fill in. The moment your result is in, you'll receive a WhatsApp message from us with a clear explanation in plain English — not a jargon-filled sheet to decode on your own.
If work is needed, we contact you to explain what's required and provide a clear, itemised quote. You approve each item before anything starts — no surprises, no work carried out without your go-ahead. Once repairs are done we handle all the retest administration. You collect your car from us at Lower Court with a clean certificate.
What Makes NGM Different
🔒 24/7 Secure Key Drop
Our key letterbox at Lower Court is open around the clock. Drop your keys the night before, early morning, or whenever suits your schedule — include a note with your name, number and reg and we'll handle everything from there. We'll send a WhatsApp confirmation when we pick them up.
🚗 Two Courtesy Cars — Keep Your Day Moving
An MOT shouldn't cost you a morning. Both of our courtesy cars are available to NGM customers at no extra charge. Book yours when you schedule your MOT online and we'll have one waiting on arrival. Courtesy cars are one of the things our customers mention most often in reviews — they make the whole experience significantly less disruptive.
Important: Availability is limited. Secure your courtesy car when booking to avoid disappointment.
💬 Clear Quotes Before Any Work Starts
If your vehicle needs repairs following the MOT, we contact you directly to explain what's needed in plain English and provide a transparent, itemised quote. You choose what to approve and what to leave for now. Nothing gets done without your explicit go-ahead — no bundled packages, no assumptions, no bill for work you didn't ask for.
We're easy to reach on WhatsApp or by phone throughout the day, so if you have questions about the quote or want to talk through the options, we're available.

Yes. We have two fully managed courtesy cars available to NGM customers at no additional charge. When you book your MOT online, simply tick the courtesy car option and we'll check availability and have one ready for you on arrival.
We strongly recommend booking the courtesy car at the same time as your MOT slot, particularly for Monday and Friday appointments — they do get reserved quickly.
Before your MOT is submitted, our technicians carry out a systematic inspection of the most common fail points: wiper blades, all exterior bulbs, tyre condition and pressure, fluid levels, horn operation, and any visible bodywork issues.
If we find something minor that would cause a fail — a blown bulb, a wiper blade past its best — we call you straight away, agree a fix, and sort it before the test proceeds. That saves you the cost of a retest and the hassle of a second visit. The pre-check is included as part of our MOT management service.
You can arrange an MOT up to one calendar month minus one day before your current certificate expires, and your renewal date stays the same. So if your MOT expires on 15 June, you can get it done from 15 May onwards without losing any of the remaining time.
The quickest way to check is the DVSA's free online checker at gov.uk/check-mot-status — enter your registration and it shows your expiry date and MOT history in seconds.
Your MOT certificate also shows the expiry date in the top right corner if you have a copy to hand.
Book online, call us, or send a WhatsApp message. We'll confirm your slot and courtesy car availability straight away.
